MMI Alumni Weekend set for April 10-11; digital membership cards now available

Marion Military Institute will welcome alumni back to campus for Alumni Weekend 2026 on Friday and Saturday, April 10–11, with a full slate of events ranging from a golf scramble and 5K run to a formal Pass in Review on the Quadrangle. This year’s theme is “Marion Made: Built on Tradition, Bound for Life.” Registration is now open at marionmilitary.edu/alumnisupporters/alumni-resources/aw/.

Friday’s events begin at 9:00 a.m. with an Alumni Golf Scramble at the MMI Golf Course, a four-man scramble with lunch provided for $50 per player. Registration opens at 10:00 a.m. at the QM Student Center and continues through 2:00 p.m. The Alabama Military Hall of Honor will be open for tours from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., followed by a First Responder Facilities Tour and Demonstration at 1:30 p.m., with a live demonstration beginning at 1:45 p.m.

Friday evening begins with a Happy Hour at the President’s Quarters from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. Evening registration moves to the Big Tent on the Quad at 6:00 p.m., followed by the Welcome Back Celebration at 6:00 p.m. under the tent. Tickets are $35. At 7:00 p.m., the institute will hold its Honored Guest Recognitions, including milestone class reunions and the presentation of the COL David J. Mollahan Honored Faculty & Staff Award, the Alumni Leadership Award, and the Arthur F. Wilkerson Award.

Saturday opens at 8:00 a.m. with registration at the Big Tent on the Quad. The Tiger Trot 5K begins at 8:00 a.m. on the Stuart Parker Swamp Fox Trail — participants can run, walk, or bring a battle buddy for $15. A brunch follows from 9:00 to 11:30 a.m. under the Big Tent for $25.

Alumni can visit the barracks to find their old rooms from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., though the institute asks visitors to respect cadets’ living quarters and refrain from entering outside that window. The Hall of Honor will again be open for tours from 10:00 a.m. to noon, and a Swamp Fox Demonstration takes place at the Leadership Training Complex from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m.

Saturday’s formal program begins at 11:30 a.m. in the Chapel with the President’s Welcome and a Cadet Musical Presentation. A Departed Alumni Remembrance follows at noon on the Chapel Steps, and a Brigade 75 Presentation begins at 12:15 p.m.

The afternoon features the MMI Knights Demonstration, Alumni Drill, and Manual of Arms Competition on the Quadrangle at 12:30 p.m., the Annual Meeting in the Chapel at 1:30 p.m., and the Pass in Review on the Quadrangle at 2:30 p.m. The Corps of Cadets will sing the Alma Mater and lower the colors at 3:15 p.m. A Send Off Social closes the weekend at the QM Student Center from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. for $15.

Tiger Softball will also be in action Saturday at Rapier Field with home games at 1:00 and 3:00 p.m. The Book Store will be open both days from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and the Uniform Department will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
