The Hale County Water Authority is considering applying for a Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF) loan from the Alabama Department of Environmental Management to fund water system improvements.
A public hearing on the proposed application will be held Wednesday, April 8, at 5:15 p.m. at the Water Authority’s offices at 19873 Alabama Highway 69 in Greensboro. An Environmental Information Document will be available for public review at the office during business hours.
The hearing will cover the nature and scope of the proposed improvements, the amount of funding available, and program timelines, according to the notice. Citizens in attendance will have the opportunity to comment on the application and the needs of the community.
Written comments may be submitted to Chairman Ronnie Thomas at the Water Authority’s address and must be received prior to April 8. Anyone requiring special assistance or an interpreter may contact the Water Authority at (334) 624-8868.
The DWSRF program provides low-interest loans to public water systems for infrastructure improvements including treatment, storage, distribution, and source water protection projects.
