League’s Shopping Spree Giveaway Benefits Deserving Family

The Christmas season was made brighter for a deserving family thanks to the Bessemer Service League.

During the hustle and bustle of the season, the League Ladies decided to sponsor a fundraiser that would benefit a deserving family. For years, the Service League has sponsored a fall fundraiser; this year they held it in December.

Lynn Knippers, owner of Rebecca’s Fine Jewelry in McCalla, had the idea that the fundraiser should be a shopping spree giveaway. The value of the prize was $1,000. A past president of the League, Knippers has for years been committed to helping the organization.

Knippers and Amanda Jewel planned the event. Heather Lawley is president of the League.

The shopping spree was held at Rebecca’s Fine Jewelry, located at 4817 McAdory School Road, Suite 101.

Congratulations to Brigitte Moore of McCalla, who won the drawing.

The monies raised always benefit a deserving family.

The Service League was established in Bessemer in 1947.
