“Be alert and aware” Human Trafficking Seminar to be held January 26

“It’s our desire to teach the everyday person traveling to and from work or the students walking to class and a mom / wife shopping how to identify the signs of human trafficking!” is what Aglow Ministries Alabama spokeswoman, Mrs. Tina Hamilton, told us regarding the upcoming Enslaved: Human Trafficking Awareness Seminar.

The event is to be held at Bessemer’s Kenneth E. Gulley Rec Center this coming Monday, starting at 11 a.m. with completions at 2 p.m.

In congruence with Bessemer Councilman Chester Porter and Bessemer School Board member Terry Dawson, the seminar will also feature guest panelists ranging from authors to everyday citizens that oppose and fight our human trafficking dilemmas daily.

Also to be present will be D.A. Lynneice Washington, Terry La Point, and Senator Merika Coleman, along with other local organization members.

This will be an informative and desperately to be heeded event for us as citizens.

With all the information that may come across our electronical devices, we still need to hear firsthand accounts and messages that we can share with others to ensure precautionary actions against the evils that reside in the minds and planned plots of those who seek to kidnap for human body parts, forced marriage, child, labor, and sex trafficking.

Mrs. Hamilton continued to say, “Sometimes it’s a ‘look,’ or a ‘hand gesture.’ We want you to notice and know how to react!” She said, as we never know where we may be or what we may encounter and from such a program can be alert and aware to know what to do in such situations.
